The Hackney Half Marathon was this weekend, and if you've never stood on the streets of E8 watching hundreds of runners go past on a Sunday morning, you are missing out. This year it came with a surprise: after a forecast of rain, the day ended up being wall-to-wall sunshine, with music all along the route and an atmosphere that reminded you what running is all about. For us, it's one of the best races in the calendar - and not just because it's right on our doorstep.

After putting out a call for members of our community to share their snaps from the day, we ended up with some great moments. K raced in our Featherlight Race Vest. At 49g, it's lighter than an energy gel (which sounds like marketing until you actually put it on). Laser-cut from Italian engineered fabric with micro-perforations throughout, it's built to disappear on the body. No seams nagging at mile 10, no overheating on the last leg. 

She, on the other hand, decided to race in our UltraMerino Tee, made from a blend of merino wool and recycled fibres. On paper, merino in a half marathon sounds like a bold choice. In practice, it makes complete sense. The fabric breathes when you're working hard, regulates when you slow down, and takes care of the rest.
