EXPLORING LONDON'S NEWEST OPEN WATER POOL

To beat the heat this weekend, we decided to head down and check out the brand new Sea Lanes at Canary Wharf, London's first National Open Water Swimming Centre, and honestly? We're already planning our next visit.

It's a brisk, open air, 50 metre open water pool (yes, Olympic length) set right on the docks, with the river, sky and glass buildings stretching out around you. It feels nothing like your average city pool. The water is naturally filtered from the dock, there are waterside saunas to warm up after your swim, and a clubhouse to relax in afterwards. The whole place has a real community feel to it, relaxed and welcoming, and if you're local, it's absolutely worth a visit this summer.

We swam in our usual kit, our Training Swimsuits and Silicone Swim Caps, and honestly they made the whole session feel that bit easier, even with the water having a proper chill to it. Little things like that make a big difference when you're doing lap after lap.

If you're planning your own open water adventure, we'd say give Sea Lanes a go this summer, and don't forget your kit!
