The silhouette of the Smock takes its inspiration from a traditional belay jacket. Climbers wear them oversized so they fit over a harness, helmet and layers, and can be pulled on or off quickly without disturbing their gear. It's cut longer, with big pockets to keep gloves, snacks and kit close at hand.
Made from a Japanese-sourced Cordura ripstop cotton, a blend of 60% cotton and 40% nylon with a reinforced crosshatch weave to catch tiny tears and prevent them from spreading. It’s highly water resistant, so rain beads up and runs off rather than soaking in, it keeps the wind out, and it dries quickly when it does get wet. Drawcords at the hood and hem let you close it down when the weather turns, and two side pockets keep the essentials to hand.
