We’re so proud to support #SwimforSolace a new sponsored swimming challenge to help raise funds to support women who’ve waited years to escape abuse.

In June, you can choose to swim either:

35 lengths
35 minutes
35 km

Why 35? Research tells us that Domestic Abuse has more repeat victims than any other crime - on average there will have been 35 assaults before a victim calls the police. That’s 35 too many.

This June, you can help end this cycle.

By swimming in your local pool or open water, you can raise awareness and funds to help Solace support women and girls to recover from abuse. You can choose a lido, a lake or the sea, and swim alone or with a group. In return you’ll receive a bespoke swim pack:

• Swim for Solace swim cap - a Usual Objections X Solace collaboration
• Solace tote bag
• Carry cup with a watery design by a child in one of Solace’s refuges

About Solace

The swim is organised by the charity, Solace, who carry out vital work to prevent violence and abuse as well as providing services to meet the individual needs of survivors particularly women and children. Their work is holistic and empowering, working alongside survivors to achieve independent lives free from abuse. For Solace, this means being able to provide accommodation to those fleeing their home, therapeutic services to help overcome years of trauma, support navigating their legal and housing options and advocating for local and national change through the laws that should protect all women and girls.

How we got involved

We met Roz and Ellie who work at Solace via Instagram as they run the @chlorinechasers account. As keen swimmers, they’re really excited to combine their passion for swimming with their work, and asked if we’d like to be involved - of course we said yes!
